When clocking in online, the server stamps the time, not the device; an offline clock action carries the device's time and is marked as offline. Raw records are never overwritten. Compliance without the headaches
Clock in via smartphone
Employees open Klox in their smartphone browser. The web app (PWA) can be added to the home screen. Offline clock actions are stored locally, carry the device's time, are marked as offline and are sent when connectivity returns. The native iOS and Android apps are in development, with no confirmed release date.
Clock in via browser
No app required: every employee can clock in through a regular web browser on computer or tablet. Ideal for office and back-office environments.
Klox Kiosk with NFC badge
For production halls, warehouses or hospitality: a fixed clock-in point on the work floor. Employees tap their badge, or pick their name and enter their own PIN. If the network drops, the kiosk keeps clocking and sends everything on once the connection is back. Ordered per device, delivery from 1/11/2026.
Append-only registration
Raw clock-in data is never overwritten or silently changed. That is how we interpret objective and reliable, two of the three requirements the CCOO ruling sets for a registration system.
Traced corrections
Errors in records are corrected through a separate, traced correction process. Every correction states the reason, the author and the timestamp. The original record is always retained. If an employee spots an error or forgot to clock, they request a correction themselves; the owner decides.

Generate a complete, readable file per employee and period at any moment. Ready for the social inspectorate, with no manual work. Export as PDF and CSV.
5 years of retention
During your subscription, registrations are kept for 5 years by default. That is the period the law already requires today for, among others, flexible schedules and deviations for part-time workers; the period of the announced rules is not yet known. They remain exportable for the employee, the employer and the inspectorate for the full retention period.
Daily register and reports
The daily register is kept automatically based on the clock data. Export overviews per day, week, month or employee in just a few clicks.
Team management and roles
Add employees, manage departments and work locations, and set permissions per role (owner, manager, employee, HR). Additional sites as an add-on (+€9/month).
Notifications and reminders
Automatic notifications for a forgotten clock-out, a shift left open too long, more than 6 hours of work without a 15-minute break and, with a schedule (Compliance Plus), deviations from that schedule. This keeps your daily register accurate.
Schedules and planning
Set weekly schedules and core hours per worksite or employee. Klox compares the time worked to the schedule and automatically flags deviations.
Leave management
Employees request leave, admins approve or reject. Holidays, sick leave, public holidays and more: your leave balance and requests in one place.
Time balance

Data stored in the EU, GDPR by design
The data in Klox is stored on servers in the European Union, in a data centre in Germany. Data processing agreement included by default.
QR per worksite
Put up a QR poster at each worksite. Anyone clocking in on their phone scans the code, so you know they were on site, without GPS. You decide per worksite, department or employee whether it is required.
